Maryland Duathlon Offering Prize Money

January 20 – Here’s an announcement on the 2016 Maryland Duathlon from race director Danny Serpico:
Two races – One Weekend
We have moved the Sprint and Olympic races to the same weekend. This year, the Sprint race will be on Saturday, July 16. The Olympic race will be on Sunday, July 17. Additionally, we have created a DUthe2 Challenge which enables athletes to register for both races at a reduced fee. All information about this can be found on the event website,
USAT Duathlon Race Series
The 2016 Maryland Duathlon has been added to the USAT Duathlon Race Series which was created in 2013 with the aim of introducing more athletes to duathlon. With one event in each of USA Triathlon’s 10 Regions, two National Championships and Powerman long course duathlon races, athletes across the country will have the opportunity to compete in a top-flight run-bike-run event. Each event is sanctioned by USA Triathlon and will count toward the popular end-of-year Duathlon National Rankings for USA Triathlon annual members. With that said, we anticipate an increase in registration numbers for the 2016 race.
Club Discount
As in recent years, we would like to extend a 10% discount to you and your club. Please reply to this email and we will send you a code that can be used at online registration.
